Ryan Field Fly-In Cancelled!

Based on the current and forecast forest fire situation in Montana, the RAF has made the reluctant decision to cancel the August 11th BBQ at Ryan Field and reschedule for June, 2008, at which time the pilot shelter should be completed.

This decision was based on the visibility conditions, the extreme fire danger as well as the high density altitude prevailing at this time. The forecast is for more of the same.

The Ryans were looking forward to having us all there but they understand that safety comes first.

There is now a courtesy van at Ryan Field for your use, but as before, prior permission is requested before landing at Ryan's.

The RAF looks forward to seeing you at Ryan Field next year under more favorable circumstances. And thank you for your support. It is due to generous people like yourselves that the RAF is able to develope visitor facilities at Ryan Field.
