RAF Founder’s Cap winner announced

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

The RAF has continued its annual Founder’s Cap raffle with a bright red edition for 2013. This year’s issue of 150 caps sold out quickly, and many were claimed and worn proudly at Montana’s Aviation Conference where the winner is traditionally drawn.

This year’s winner is Ben McCaul of San Luis Obispo, CA; RAF member since 2010.

Ben stated the objective of the raffle clearly in his enthusiastic response:

“Thank you so much John and the RAF!   It hadn't crossed my mind that I might actually win!  Thanks so much for all you are doing to promote and support backcountry flying!”

This year’s prize was a Garmin GDL 39 portable ADS-B Datalink coupled with an Apple iPad.

Opposite:

Ben and his girlfriend Vanessa at Ryan Field. The red cap will go very nicely with his beautiful red, white and blue Maule.
