This strip is located right next to a town called Randsberg, CA which is a funky "living ghost town" that will be hosting a wild west-themed event on the same day with live music and food stands.

Time and Date:

Work party attendees will meet at the Goler Heights airstrip on Friday, September 14th. Those who live too far to drive can fly in and land at the airstrip, winds permitting. There will be a person on the ground with a radio to receive them.

A note on Goler Heights:

Goler is positioned in a slight bowl with rising terrain surrounding the airstrip - winds permitting, we recommend people to land and take off to the west.

Work Logistics:

We will be shuttling folks from Goler Heights Airstrip to the Johannesburg work site early on Saturday, September 15th.

We expect the work to take a full day - this will involve pulling weeds, collecting garbage, raking the airstrip and setting up the windsock and sign.

Sleeping Arrangements:

We will be camping at Goler Heights the night of Friday, September 14th.

On Saturday the 15th, folks can feel free to camp another night and depart on Sunday morning or depart that evening. People can also stay in the nearby town of Randsburg which has a hotel and a few airbnbs.

We do not recommend camping at the Johannesburg airstrip.

This event will not be catered, and participants are expected to bring their own food. On Saturday there will be food options in Randsburg after the day is over.

How Folks can Help:

The best way to help is to drive, however we also are looking for offers of open seats on airplanes for those that are flying in.

Those that live nearby and can offer equipment would be greatly appreciated. A tractor and gannon are needed.

Extra tie-downs are appreciated. Bring a good pair of work gloves.
