CA: GRAVELLY VALLEY AIRSTRIP WORK PARTY

A work party is scheduled to take place at Gravelly Valley airstrip (IQ5) on Saturday, October 12. The main goal is to place a new windsock at the southwestern corner of the airstrip. This will require making, hauling, and placing sakrete in the hole, along with putting the windsock and pole together. We will also be painting and placing tires in a circle around the new windsock. The next main task is to drag the strip where needed to remove ruts and inspect the runway and remove larger rocks. If time permits we’ll paint airstrip boundaries. 

Bring gloves, ear and eye protection, water, breakfast, lunch, and food for the evening potluck. Wear comfortable clothing that is safe around powered equipment. We plan to start by 8 am, or earlier if possible. Please RSVP or direct questions to Alan Cossitt: acossitt@theraf.org.
