IMPROVED AIRFIELD GUIDE TOPS 400 LISTINGS
The RAF is pleased to announce that as of now, you’ll find over 400 places to explore in the Airfield Guide, the interactive digital catalog showcasing great recreational airfields. In 2016, Arkansas pilots Dave Powell and Chip Gibbons created the Airfield Guide, and by 2023, it included over 300 listings. Powell said, “We’ve seen huge growth the past year as pilots are becoming much more aware of this resource.”
It’s free to use, and new users must simply create a user login. Powell reports that a recent check revealed that the Airfield Guide has had over 7,000 users. Users are welcome to add their own photos, videos, and comments to airfield listings.
RAF State Liaisons and Ambassadors identify desirable destinations to add to the Guide, and each potential airfield goes through a qualifying evaluation. Owners of airfield properties may contact their respective RAF State Liaison for further details.
