RAF GRANT FUNDS RESTROOMS AT MAINE’S BOWMAN FIELD

RAF Maine Ambassador Larry Grenier was awarded an RAF grant in 2024 for new restrooms at Bowman Field, B10, the popular 2,200-ft turf airfield in Livermore Falls, Maine. Volunteers headed up by Bowman Field Flying Club President Nathan Hurd got to work last July on the major construction. This spring they finished the final details in good time for Bowman’s 39th Annual Fly-in (August 23-24, see our event calendar for details). The airport is privately owned by the Club, and open to the public.

Grenier said, “Having a permanent restroom for visitors of Bowman field to use is a nice addition to the airfield. It makes their time at Bowman a little more comfortable.”

The airfield sees a great deal of recreational visitation, and has a seaplane base within a short walk of the airfield. There is fuel at the airfield, and within a mile is a small convenience store. The Androscoggin River is accessible just three miles south, and is a favorite with canoeists and anglers trying for rainbow, brown trout, and largemouth bass.

Grenier added, “Bowman Field an ideal gateway to North Country flying.” For more information on Bowman Field, see the Airfield Guide.
