RAF BOARD SETS 2019 GOALS

After an intense weekend planning session, the RAF Board of Directors is deeming 2019 an exciting and pivotal year for the organization.

In January of each year, the Board convenes for a face to face meeting to recap the previous year and define its areas of focus for the future. This year’s meeting took place January 25-27 at Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN).

The RAF leadership team, led by President Bill McGlynn, flew in from all regions of the U.S. for the forum. The board was joined by RAF’s Administrative Director Tricia McKenna and Volunteer Coordinator Erin White.

The meeting included three working dinners and two full days of brainstorming, goal setting, planning and budgeting. 

The RAF mission – to preserve, maintain and create airstrips for recreational access – was reinforced. While continuing to keep a sharp focus on that mission, the organization forged some important new initiatives which will be announced in a follow-up web story later this month. As always, we thank our amazing members for their support as we work together to protect special places across the country and keep the spirit of general aviation alive.

“We had a very productive and creative board meeting again this year, that will undoubtedly translate to continued successes in 2019,” McGlynn said, adding, “I am always impressed by the commitment our directors have to our mission and how much enjoyment and satisfaction they realize by achieving our goals of keeping backcountry airfields accessible all across the country. It’s even more gratifying and important how many true friendships are made while wearing ‘the RAF orange’. Here’s to another successful year, and hope to see you out there!”
