AVIATION LOSES A FRIEND

Today aviation lost a truly good friend. John Kounis passed away suddenly.  John, along with his best friend and brother George are the owners of Pilot Getaways magazine.

John was one of those that continually looked for a way to make the world of aviation better.  He truly was a guy who could not only write & talk about the best places to go, but went there himself. 

The RAF was extremely fortunate to have had him involved with us in so many ways.  Just about every part of this organization was touched in some way by the hand of John Kounis.  John built, hosted and maintained the RAF website and served as California State Liaison for the last 5 years. We will miss his infectious laugh and personality, but are grateful for the time we had with him.
