ANOTHER TAX BREAK THAT ALSO SUPPORTS YOUR FAVORITE CHARITY

IRA’s are great for accumulating retirement income during your working years, only to be hit with high tax rates upon withdrawal. You may have other, more tax efficient resources at retirement than you realize.

Tax code gives RAF supporters a really great tool to fulfill their personal hopes for the foundation. If you are 70 1/2, and are required to begin IRA withdrawals – and pay tax on them – consider this special provision. To avoid being hit with taxation on these IRA resources, simply instruct your IRA administrator to make a Qualified Charitable Deduction (QCD) to the RAF. You can donate up to $100,000 per year WITHOUT having to declare the withdrawals as taxable income. This satisfies the requirements of the mandatory age 70 1/2 taxable withdrawals.

If you decide to designate the RAF as recipient of a QCD, be sure to let RAF HQ know. Call 406-582-1723 or email contact@theraf.org. You can make a special wish, or support a favorite RAF project.

The RAF advises all parties to consult their own tax professionals to address their specific tax concerns or obligations.

We’ll be sharing other tax tips — watch this space next quarter for other ways to maximize tax advantages while optimizing your wealth. If you have any questions, email us at contact@theraf.org.
