EARNING PERSPECTIVE

Put simply, perspective is the way an individual or a group of individuals see the world. That view is generally shaped from their personal points of view as seen through a gathering of one’s life experiences. And our perspectives are the basis of our decision-making.

If there is a trap, it would be that your perspective may not actually align with reality. To align one’s perspective with the whole reality, the key is to listen and gain wisdom from others.

I digress here for a moment. Tricia and I just ran thru the 50 year marital tape with smiles on our faces. Just a few months before, I had personally celebrated my 50th anniversary with the financial services company I began my career with. Adding in the 20-plus year stint with the RAF, I feel I can take a little liberty in discussing what it takes to hang in there. Yet, what I have really learned with these experiences is, you gain the most by listening to those close to you and around you. That is what creates and helps align your perspective.

Like all of our RAF leadership who have been a part of growing this organization, I have gained the most when hearing what you had to say. Discovery deepens perspective, and you have helped the RAF discover and focus on what brings us success. So, we listen, and apply generous doses of life experience to when decisions are called for.

The RAF is fortunate to have a strong group of individuals who bring shared perspective to leadership. They care about what you see out there. We want to hear from you, and most important, we want you to be a part of the RAF perspective. So please let us hear from you. We are good listeners.
