Jun 04, 2022 9:00AM—2:00PM

Location

McKenzie Bridge State Airport (00S), Oregon

Event Contact Richard Mayes | Email

For the past several years the RAF has supported the Oregon Department of Aviation with maintenance and improvements at McKenzie Bridge State Airport (00S).  This year we plan to hold a volunteer work party on Saturday 04 June, from 09:00 to 14:00.

RAF supporter Paul MacClanahan of Bend has offered to supply equipment and fuel to mow the airfield.  Additional volunteers will be useful to help maintain the perimeter of the airfield, including string trimming around the tie-downs and removing brush encroaching around signs.

If anyone can supply some surplus white paint and application equipment, the runway edge markers could be repainted.

Volunteers should bring any tools you can to help support the efforts.  Be sure to wear appropriate clothing, shoes, gloves and a sun hat.  Bring water, snacks and your lunch.  Camping immediately adjacent to the airfield is available.

If you plan to fly into the airfield after 09:00, be aware of equipment and people working on and around the airfield.  If you are unfamiliar with flight operations at McKenzie Bridge, please refer to the safety briefing.  Additional information is available at: https://www.airfield.guide

Please reach out to Oregon Liaison Richard Mayes (rmayes@theraf.org) by 02 June if you intend to join us at McKenzie Bridge and what you can bring/donate to the effort.
