OR: PACIFIC CITY AIRPORT CLEAN UP WORK PARTY

Who: Friends of Pacific City Airport partnering with the Oregon Department of Aviation & 40 Volunteers

Where: KPFC on the Oregon Coast

What: Cleanup the airport by clearing debris and encroaching vegetation

When: Saturday, June 14, 2025:  8:00 a.m. to noon. Beverages, snacks & lunch provided

Volunteers:

The ODA requires submission of the attached “Volunteer Service” form prior to starting work.  For the “assigned duties” on the form please use “.” If the volunteer has done one before, another is not needed. Please complete the form and email it in advance to friendsofpacificcityairport@gmail.com

Clothing:

Please bring and wear your orange volunteer shirt if you already have one. We can provide a replacement shirt if needed.  We’ll need to know who is new and their shirt size to order them a shirt. Gloves are optional, but advised.

Overnighting:

Pacific City Inn is willing to offer a 15% lodging discount for people who are supporters of the airport.  Call 503-965-6464 and tell them that you are a supporter of Friends of Pacific City Airport and that you’d like the 15% discount. You MUST call the motel directly.  You cannot book through a discount lodging site. Pacific City Inn is on the east side of the airport.  You can watch airplanes take off and land at your door step!

Flying to the Cleanup:

KPFC will be closed to air traffic during this cleanup event. WE PLAN TO BRING SEVERAL LARGE PIECES OF EQUIPMENT ONTO THE AIRSTRIP FOR THE WORK PARTY SO DON’T WANT ANY LIMITATIONS DUE TO PARKED AIRCRAFT. PLEASE FLY TO TILLAMOOK (TMK) ON SATURDAY MORNING AND A SHUTTLE WILL PICK YOU UP AND BRING YOU TO KPFC FOR THE WORK PARTY. JUST BE SURE TO LET US KNOW IN YOUR RSVP THAT YOU’LL NEED A SHUTTLE.

Driving/Parking:

PLEASE PARK IN PARKING LOTS AT THE PETE ANDERSON BUSINESS MALL, THE POST OFFICE/ BIBLE CHURCH, OR THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.  THESE LOCATIONS ARE EAST OF THE AIRPORT. (35130 Brooten Rd., Pacific City, 97135)

Tools needed:

Please bring tools to help with this cleanup. Be sure to label tools so we can be sure they go home with you.

* Loppers         * Shovels          * Rakes             * Portable Chair for lunch and breaks    * Weed Eaters

* Gardening Tools (trowels, hoes, trimmers, etc.)
