“MY FAVORITE, NEW FREE AVIATION TOOL”

The 109k subscribers to Charlie Gasmire’s YouTube channel, “Airplane Academy,” have just been treated to a helpful new 15-minute video: a brisk tutorial on the new RAF Airfield Guide. Charlie calls the Guide his “absolute favorite resource for pilots,” and as he says, it’s absolutely free.

The updated Airfield Guide is stacked with useful detail and is totally interactive. You can select amenities, and the kinds of airfields you want to explore. Simply hover over each location for basic facts, just another click brings up details to help you decide where to go on your next adventure. Want to fish for trout or kayak a river? Looking for good food within a short walk? Comfy lodging – or a more backcountry experience where a composting toilet is considered luxury?  It’s all in the Airfield Guide! You can also export your route into Google Earth for a 3-D view, and watch approach or takeoff videos. You are invited to leave your own comment or video to help others choose their destination. In short, you’ll see why the Airfield Guide is Charlie’s “favorite, new free aviation tool.”
