WEEKEND AT GRAPEVINE AIRSTRIP

RAF team showed up in force at Arizona’s Grapevine Airstrip for a weekend of fun, camping, food and friendship. RAF 

Board member Alan Metzler and his wife Jill, from PA enjoyed their first camping in the Sanoran Desert landscape along with RAF’s first state liaison, Ron Normandeau and his wife Kathy. Of course AZ Liaison Mark Spencer and roughly 35 other RAF and APA members attended. Tonto National Forest District Ranger Kelly Jardine and Recreation Manager Roberto Ybarra attended lunch. Mark gave a short overview of the recent RAF visit to D.C. and recognized several of the local folks for their commitment and effort at the Grapevine airstrip. A strong contingent from the western slopes of CO also attended. Lunch was sponsored by Cub Crafter’s and local dealer Rick Bosshardt of Suncountry Cubs.
