NOISE STUDY UPDATE

The RAF sponsored noise study on the effects of aircraft on wildlife in the backcountry is progressing. This initial piece of work has funding from the AOPA Foundation and the State of MT. Devin Landry and Chad White of the University of Montana, under the direction of RAF Science Committee chairman Dr Ric Hauer have been conducting field studies over the course of this summer. There has been active participation by volunteer pilots to move the needed manpower and materials in and out of the selected locations. Volunteers from both within the state of MT and across the country have contributed to the project.
