RAF POTATO BAKE SERVES UP SMILES AT AOPA’S SPOKANE FLY-IN

The RAF enjoyed brisk traffic at AOPA’s regional Fly-In at Spokane Felts Field Saturday, Aug. 16. Visitors asked lots of questions, and poked their heads in the Nemo tent and local pilot Jeff Hamilton’s immaculate Husky. Many folks joined “Team RAF” and bought RAF orange caps.

The weather was perfect, as was the dynamic view, as aircraft flew past on the nearby parallel runways.

The RAF topped off the evening with another popular potato bake in Jeff and Martha Hamilton’s expansive hangar. Nearly eighty RAF supporters enjoyed liquid refreshments, then a perfectly-baked Washington spud with an impressive array of traditional and south-of- the-border fixin’s. The chipotle sour cream got rave reviews.

(Witnesses reported seeing men dishing fresh chopped broccoli over their gourmet potatoes.) The RAF and Washington State liaison Dave Whitelaw wish to thank AOPA organizers for the opportunity, as well as hangar hosts Jeff and Martha Hamilton.
