8TH ANNUAL NEGRITO FLY IN, NM.

The 8th annual Negrito (0NM7) Fly-in was held in the Gila National Forest Sept. 16-18 and was a great success!  At 8,000 feet and in the heart of the Gila National Forest, Negrito is an incredibly beautiful and remote spot. The event is co-sponsored by the New Mexico Pilots Assoc., (NMPA) and the RAF, and 18 planes and 30 individuals came from NM, TX and even one visitor from CA.

Weather is always a concern this time of year, but this year we enjoyed clear skies, cool temperatures, very little wind and a big full moon. Elk, deer, antelope, raccoons and coyotes joined in the festivities!

On Saturday evening the Adobe Café from Reserve, NM catered our meal, followed by the traditional concert around the campfire by three of our members.  The sing-along gave RAF New Mexico Liaison Larry Filener the perfect opportunity to talk about the work and success the RAF and NMPA have had in the state.
