AOPA FLY-IN BATTLE CREEK, MI.

The RAF was well-represented at AOPA’s regional Fly-in at Battle Creek, MI. Nearly 2,000 AOPA members, family and guests attended despite less than desirable weather. The RAF secured a great display in a prime location. The camp scene was set by Diz Frederick which drew in visitors, many of whom became new RAF members.

RAF Michigan Liaison Brad Frederick was on hand to discuss the recent successful opening of North Fox Island Airstrip, and progress on the Two-Hearted Airstrip project in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Your intrepid RAF volunteer team endured high wind and sun on Friday; rain and finally sun on Saturday. RAF Ohio Liaison Freeman Swank joined Sarah Chandler and the Fredericks, as well as Mike Woodley, Jim and Heather Butcher, Oliver and Martina Reik, and Anne Wright who all worked to provide exposure for the RAF. In addition to Michigan visitors, there were many from IN, IL, OH, WI, MN, WV, AR,NY, and a few from other states.
