FEATURED AIRSTRIP: TRIPLE TREE AERODROME

Each month we highlight an airstrip with hopes that you will get out and enjoy these special places. This month’s Featured Airstrip is Triple Tree, SC00 in South Carolina, a recreational airfield that is known for its Southern hospitality. The RAF enjoys its ongoing relationship with the Triple Tree folks, and supports their mission to “Ignite and Expand the Passion for Aviation.”

AOPA’s David Tullis explains, “The inviting 7,000-foot-long grass airstrip opens the door to a variety of outdoor activities including camping, fishing, and spending balmy evenings under tall Southern pines.”

Enjoy camp spots along the tree-lined river banks or at the shady edge of the “Monet-style” ponds. Visitors may tour the Biltmore Estate nearby, fish for bass, or just relax, awaiting the frequent RC aircraft demonstrations in the evening. “Fun, Fellowship, and Hospitality” are Triple Tree’s stated values that engage visitors in a uniquely positive experience.
